Martis is a bracelet made of red and white string and it's name comes of the month March (Martios or Martis).
Ages have passed since I have been a part of the Martis ritual yet I still have my mum's words in my ears: So that the sun won’t burn your cheeks. I strongly remember that my Martis was a simple string in bright red and white. So I decided to revive this memory by making my own special porcelain beaded Martis bracelets. Hope you like them!
The tradition says that the bracelet has to be worn from March 1st to 31st and then thrown up up in a tree and taken away by a flying swallow.
Martis seasonal bracelet with porcelain handmade beads and macrame knots. The beads are fired twice at temperatures of 1200oC and 1020oC and colored with fine glazes.
